The next day had come. It was around noon; the sun was shining with great brilliance over everything. Today was the start of a long arduous path for two specific boys.

Every youth that was at the training grounds yesterday was present once again. They all woke up and made sure that they didn miss Ryans explanation as it was vital for everyone.

Ryan was once again standing on the stage.

”Good, everyone is here. Let me set some things straight you all will not call me Ryan, but Instructor Ryan or Instructor. Am I clear? ” Ryan yelled sternly.

”Yes, Instructor! ”

”Yes, Instructor Ryan! ”

All the youths had immediately answered Ryans question. They all knew to be respectful and fast-acting when it comes to responding to Ryan.

”Alright, now let me inform you all of the training schedule you will all have. Every day from when the sun completely rises and halfway sets you will all be training. After your training, you will eat a big meal. For the other times where you
e not practicing the technique, you either keep practicing, train a weapon with knights, or relax/sleep.

”Now onto where you will train and where you can get weapons. You can either train here or at the nearby waterfall where the knights will lead you later today. You can train anywhere where the other slaves can see your practice. You can get wood weapons from the racks to my right and left. You can ask any of the knights to teach you how to use it. But the best people to come to are the knights with two stars. Oh, while Im at it the stars represent what realm one is in: one star is Apprentice Knight, two stars are True Knights, and three stars are Honorable Knights. ”

Many of the youths felt dumb as they finally knew what the stars represented on the knights uniform. They thought it meant the hierarchy, which was partially right, but mostly wrong.

Ryan then continued, ”I know some of you tried to perform the techniques nine shifts and utterly failed, so I will perform it three times for you all so pay attention. ”

Ryan took a deep breath to calm his nerves as he took a basic stance with his wrist to his waist, legs shoulder-width apart, and his knees slightly bent. He started.

Around ten minutes later Ryan had finished all the three sets of the shifts he promised.

All the kids had their jaws dropped in surprise at how well Ryan performed the technique.

Those who tried to perform the shifts were even more flabbergasted as when comparing Ryan to themselves was like comparing Heaven to Earth. His moves were so perfect it was inexplicable. Ryan had mastered the technique.

”Even if you haven memorized my movements, I will perform it every day three times a day for a straight week. If you don memorize it after that then I guess you
e out of luck. Anyways those who show great progress will be awarded by me and even get sword lessons from me!

”Now let me give you all some advice for cultivating the stages in the Apprentice Knight realm. For the skin tempering stage, you can perform the ”Bull Kings Nine Shifts ” under the waterfall. For the muscle strengthening stage, you can hold the different shifts of the technique, train combat weapons, or do calisthenics. For the organ refining stage, you can sink in the lake, perform the nine shifts, and stay there till you need to breathe. As for the bone tempering stage, you can either perform the moves on the poles, which is usually the first. There is another option that those willing to take the risk of death can ask of me when you reach that stage. Disregarding that you all can follow the knights to the waterfall now. ”

Ryan flicked his hand signifying that he was done talking and that they can now follow the knight. He walked off the stage and disappeared.

One of the two-star knights or known as True Knights walked in front of the crowd of youths and spoke.

”Follow me! ” the knight demanded.

The knight walked to the front of the building with the younglings. They were not following the same dirt path in front that Kyren and Emrys took. Instead of walking straight, they took a left.

After walking for what felt like half an hour, they arrived in front of some trees. Ways beyond the trees was a cliff that traveled far ways to the left and right.

On top of the cliff was a body of water pouring down into a medium-sized lake creating a beautiful waterfall.

Directly under the waterfall where the water drops was a big stone, stretching a hundred feet across. It was big enough for all the youths to be under it and still have space between each other.

Upon reaching the lake the knight turned around and said with a smile, ”Ill be returning now, and you all must be back to your resting area by midnight, if you
e not there by midnight there will be consequences. Also, don try to run away, well always find you no matter how far you run. ”

Everybody took the knights words to heart as they all had seen what happened to someone who tried to run away.

Just like that, the knight left leaving them all there by themselves. He was no babysitter; he was just a guide for them.

Meanwhile, Emrys and Kyren walked a little bit away from the crowd to talk.

Emrys talked first, ”Kyren, I memorized the moves Instructor Ryan made, did you? ”

”Obviously, if you can do it why can I? ” Kyren spat, being cocky.

”Okay, if you memorized it like you said lets have a competition on who can perform it faster and better, ” Emrys suggested.

Kyren replied confidently, ”Lets do it! ”

Unknowing Emrys and Kyren everybody heard their little discussion and was both surprised and intrigued. Most of them didn expect someone to memorize Ryans moves as they didn memorize the moves.

So, they had focused their attention on Kyren and Emrys, they wanted to see if what they said was true and if it was how well could they perform it. They wanted to know if they were in the initial stage.

In mastery of a cultivation technique, there were mastery proficiency levels. It started from initial, intermediate, advanced, profound, mastery, perfection, and transcendence. The last two, perfection and transcendence were a rare occurrence for someone to achieve.

Emrys and Kyren started to perform the moves, which only took them fifteen minutes a little while longer than Ryan.

”Wow! ”

”Amazing! ”

All the youths were flabbergasted, Emrys and Kyren really memorized and performed the technique. When they performed the moves, it wasn trash, but good.

Instead, the voices of some teens another voice that no one could hear whispered to them themselves.

”Geniuses, absolutely geniuses. Its their first time and they already have the technique to the peak of the initial stage. ”
