Chapter 24: Who Made Your Arm?

The night in Hell’s Kitchen was extraordinarily quiet today, and Alvin held the little guy in his arms, and when she frowned, he chased away her nightmares.

A dreamless night! Of course, Alvin didn’t sleep at all. In the early morning, Alvin didn’t go out for a run in a rare moment, but bought breakfast at Uncle Cheng’s stall at the door and returned to the store.

Waiting for the little princess who awakened by herself to wash up, he woke up Nick and Frank roughly.

Frank woke up and found that his disabled son had guarded him by the bed all night, and smacked his head in shame. On the first day, he met his 8-year-old son to take care of him, making Frank very dissatisfied with himself. Although his son’s care had made his injury much better, he used to ignore his family too much.
It turned out that with the care of my family, he could recover so quickly from such a serious injury!

Frank could not be more satisfied with his son.
The only bad thing was Alvin’s attitude.
How could he treat his son like this? He would have turned him into swiss chess if this were a time when he was in bad mood. But his son just liked this situation, he was always looking for trouble, and he was scolded back.

Today’s Hell’s Kitchen was a bit strange.
Alvin routinely drove a pickup truck to stand guard at the school gate. Frank stayed in the shop and he had to take care of renting the house.

Alvin felt that the trip today was very smooth.
All the vehicles along the way, when they saw Alvin’s old-fashioned Ford pickup, consciously moved out of the way. It usually took 30 minutes, but today he arrived in 15 minutes. Alvin was also proud of this, that the people here finally recognized his contribution, and he should now be considered a celebrity in Hell’s Kitchen.

After getting out of the car, Alvin felt that something was wrong, and something must have happened that he didn’t know about. Everyone looked at him with awe. The rebellious boys and girls in strange costumes originally in the school were all gone. One by one with lowered eyes and a destination, it made the community school look like an Ivy League school.

Even Deputy Principal Nelson, who usually stood at the school gate, looked at Alvin with a mixture of awe, fear, and incredibleness when he saw Alvin.

Alvin was impatient and asked Nelson, “What the hell happened? Aliens attacked the earth?”

Nelson saluted respectfully and said flatly, “Mr.
Principal, good morning! Your feat last night must have spread throughout Hell’s Kitchen today.”

Alvin was stunned for a moment and understood! Yesterday, the culprit of Bloody Johnson was still put on his account. He thought about carefully explaining it, but he couldn’t talk to this Nelson at all so he forgot about it.

The sudden and fierce reputation made Alvin’s job very easy today.

Looking at the performance of these rascals, they must have been warned many times by their mothers this morning until their ears fell off!

He saw Professor Cage from afar, and heard him shout in a reverberating voice: “Alvin, how many people did you kill yesterday?”

Alvin had a lawsuit on his hands and didn’t want to deal with the old bastard.
He turned around and jumped into his car, and rushed back to the restaurant as if to run away.

He came back very early today, just in time to marinate today’s beef.
What he used yesterday were the leftovers from the day before yesterday.

From the cold storage in the basement, 50 kilograms of beef were removed. He put in several large trays and sent them to the lobby on the first floor to let it thaw naturally. In several large bowls, he poured in black pepper and salt and stirred well.

Little girl Ginny was helping Jessica enthusiastically, carrying a small rag, and following Jessica step by step.
She would do whatever Jessica did. Alvin believed that the restaurant today must be twice as clean as usual.

He praised Ginny and kissed her on the face.
The little girl’s enthusiasm for work was even higher.
Although she knocked over several seasoning jars, her hard-working quality must be praised.

The busy morning passed quickly, and the Peace Restaurant officially opened for business. As usual, many diners came to the restaurant just on time. The only difference was that the diners from Hell’s Kitchen would respectfully come to say hello to Alvin. And the diners who came here were no different than usual.

50 steaks didn’t take much work for Alvin. On the contrary, it took a lot of time to make Ginny’s sweet and sour pork ribs and beef stew with tomatoes he promised yesterday.

When these two dishes came out, many diners were complaining, why did he not remind them that there was still such fragrant food. Of course, the complainers were the guys who came here because of the restaurant’s reputation.

Alvin hugged Ginny and sat on the high stool at the bar, and Jessica came over in a very unprofessional manner. One person was holding a bowl of rice and slurping happily.

After more than half of the meal was eaten, Jessica, out of a beautiful girl’s self-consciousness, didn’t want to add a third bowl of rice. She left Alvin and Ginny laughing and continue eating.

Seeing that Ginny was almost done eating, Alvin refused her third request to add food and kissed the little girl’s sullen little cheek.
He patted her bulging belly, made her laugh again, and put away the tableware.

It was past 1 o’clock, usually, no diners would come in at this time, but today three police officers in uniform and a righteous middle-aged man in a suit came.

There were two police officers Alvin knew, Michael and Scott. The two were also the first to say hello to Alvin, and the enthusiastic Scott even came up to give Alvin a high-five and fist bump, frowning when he saw the other policewoman in police uniform.

The righteous middle-aged man was very open, naturally sat down in front of the bar, and said to Alvin with a smile: “Hello, Mr.
Alvin, I have long heard that the steak here is very good, and I have always wanted to try it.
I haven’t had the chance, I don’t know if I can have this good luck today?” Seeing Alvin frowning and looking at himself, the middle-aged man said, “Oh, I haven’t introduced myself yet, George Stacy, Chief of the New York City Police Department.” After speaking, he stretched out his hand to shake hands with Alvin.

Alvin reached out and shook his hand, and said apologetically, “You may have to wait until evening to eat it, as the portion for lunch today has been sold out.”

George had a good temper and didn’t mind, and said, “That’s such a pity! Don’t mind it, please bring me a glass of water!”

“Of course.” Alvin motioned to Jessica to give the Director and his party a lemonade.

The female police officer came to the bar, rested her left elbow on the bar, tapped her finger on the bar, motioned Alvin to come over, and said, “Can’t we make an exception?”

Alvin ignored her irrationality and turned to Michael and Scott.

Michael smiled awkwardly and explained, “This is Officer Misty Knight, the new chief of our Hell’s Kitchen branch.” He stepped aside, obviously, he didn’t like his new boss very much.

Alvin smiled playfully, “I have to congratulate our Hell’s Kitchen police station for having a new chief.” Then he looked at Misty, “Your gates have also been replaced? The previous chiefs have suffered a lot of pain.”

Misty was obviously grumpy and slapped her right hand on the bar heavily. The bar made a loud bang. A steel arm made an obvious depression in the thick solid wooden bar.

No one was left in the restaurant, and the diners who came here were almost all gone. The rest were Hell’s Kitchen locals who knew something. Everyone looked at Alvin a little excitedly to see how he would handle this.

Alvin looked at Misty’s finely crafted robotic arm with interest, and said, “Officer Knight, if you give me the phone number of the manufacturer who made your arms, I can forgive you for causing damage and destruction to my bar.”

Misty looked at Alvin angrily and said, “Alvin Ye, we now suspect that you have something to do with the massacre on Long Island yesterday.
You are a suspect now and need to cooperate with our investigation.”

Alvin looked at Michael and Scott who bowed their heads silently behind Misty and knew that these two guys were digging a hole for Misty. But who cared? You can’t ignore your own mental retardation just because someone else digs a hole for you.
