Chapter 17 – Character bio

An hour later, Lin Qin and Meng Chao came back after buying the materials.
At the same time shopping for materials, the two went to the supermarket to buy the ingredients for today's lunch and dinner before returning to the villa.

When the two returned to the villa, Jin Feiyun sat lazily on the sofa playing with his mobile phone, while Zhang Yue was washing fruit.

Seeing the two come in, Zhang Yue spoke, “I just walked around the neighbourhood and saw some fruit, so I bought some.” After that, he joked, “Don't worry, it's not from the show group’s expenses.”

After speaking, he put the washed fruit on a plate, walked to the living room and put it on the coffee table.

It was just some cherries and peaches.
But after being washed, they looked very appetising.

Jin Feiyun, who was lying lazily on the sofa just now, sat up immediately when he saw the fruit, and before Lin Qin and Meng Chao sat down, picked up a cherry and put it in his mouth, saying contentedly: ” Zhang Yue, how do you know that I love cherries?”

Zhang Yue smiled, “That's a coincidence, I also like to eat them.”

In fact, Zhang Yue was a die-hard fan of Meng Chao.
He knew Meng Chao liked to eat cherries, so he brought a box of cherries when he went out for a walk.

But since Jin Feiyun spoke out, he couldn't slap Jin Feiyun in the face, right? And he couldn’t let the audience feel he was flattering Jin Feiyun, deliberately buying the fruit Jin Feiyun liked to eat.

Meng Chao's mind was not on fruits.
He asked Zhang Yue, “Zhang Yue, have you studied art? Can you mix colours?”

Zhang Yue nodded, “Yes, yes, if Teacher Meng has anything to do, just tell me, I promise to complete the task.”

Meng Chao: “Then you will work with Lin Qin later.
He will take the lead today.”

After speaking, he gave Lin Qin an encouraging look.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Qin started to speak, “I'll give you the colours that will be used later.
You can help me to adjust them.
I'll draw the first draft first.”

Zhang Yue agreed and quickly took the materials from Meng Chao.

Lin Qin then reported several colours to Zhang Yue, and Zhang Yue immediately went to complete his task with great interest.
He didn't say he knew art or wanted to paint on the wall.

After Jin Feiyun finished eating the cherries, she got up and asked, “What about me? Do you need me to do anything?”

After thinking, Lin Qin replied, “You will paint with Brother Meng Chao later.”

As soon as Jin Feiyun heard she was working with Meng Chao, her laziness disappeared and she was full of energy.

Meng Chao glanced at her but said nothing.

After the work was divided, everyone got to do their own work.

Lin Qin drew a picture on the wall with a paintbrush.
It only took him a few strokes to finish the outline of the painting.
Zhang Yue, who had studied fine arts, naturally knew this skill required a solid foundation.
Seeing he was almost done, he sighed on the side: “Teacher Lin, are you a professional? It's amazing.”

Immersed in his own world, Lin Qin replied with hindsight, “Well, I studied this in college.”

Mixing out a colour, Zhang Yue handed it to Lin Qin, “Teacher Lin, is this colour ok?”

When Zhang Yue said he had learned it, it really was not just talking.
After a few mixes from the brush, the colour that had come out was similar to what Lin Qin wanted.
Lin Qin nodded, “Well, that's ok.”

While continuing to adjust other colours, Zhang Yue asked curiously: “Teacher Lin, why did you enter this industry? Since you are majoring in art, the two industries are not too deeply connected.”

This question Zhang Yue asked was something the majority of the people questioned about Lin Qin.
How could someone who studied interior design enter the entertainment industry, and even win the Film emperor title within a year?

The answer was naturally in Lin Qin's heart, but it was not suitable to say it out loud.
Lin Qin took a look at Meng Chao who was not far away.
It just happened that Meng Chao also looked over, and their eyes met in the void.

Meng Chao raised the corners of his lips smiling at Lin Qin.
However, Lin Qin, who got caught peeking, turned his head in a panic, his face turning red.

It happened that there was a camera on top of his head, which captured Lin Qin blushing very clearly.

In the shot which captured this scene, although Lin Qin blushed, he couldn't help his mouth from smiling.

Seeing Lin Qin didn't answer him, Zhang Yue asked, “Is it inconvenient to answer?”

Coming back to his senses, Lin Qin answered, “I just got curious about the circle and wanted to enter and see how it was.”

Zhang Yue made an exaggerated act of vomiting blood, “Teacher Lin, please leave a way for me and other mortals to survive.”

Just because of curiosity, he entered this circle, and then immediately won the Best Actor at the International Film Festival? It's maddening to say this, and it's not much worse than the myth of Meng Chao, who was a legend in the entertainment industry.

Lin Qin pursed his lips, not knowing how to answer this, so he blankly replied “Oh.”

Zhang Yue: “…”

In order not to make the atmosphere too embarrassing, Zhang Yue humbly asked for advice: “Recently I have a play where one person is required to play two roles, and sometimes I feel powerless when acting.
I watched teacher Lin's “Double Love”, so I thought of asking teacher Lin for any tips.
Teacher Lin's acting is very good, and you can completely deduce the appearance of two people, so I want to ask teacher Lin how you managed to switch between two characters like that so freely?”

Lin Qin had just finished the first half of the painting.
Getting off the ladder, he replied in a matter-of-fact tone, “Just treat yourself as a character.” Anyway, that's how he acted.
When he played someone, he would treat himself as the one who he was playing, forgetting who he was.
Hence, he naturally could show the effect of two different people.

But it's simple for Lin Qin to say this.
However, not everyone had the patience to write and experience a biography of a character with a thick knuckle of the thumb.

Lin Qin would thoroughly figure out the character he wanted to play, and then would substitute himself into that character.
What Lin Qin said was the result, but the process to get such a result was not simple at all.

But now, Zhang Yue only saw the results, and could only think the world was really unfair.
He has been studying in an acting class for four years, and he had been struggling for two years after coming out.
So far, he had only won the best male award in a certain domestic award.
However, compared with Lin Qin, it was like a sky and an underground.

Really, people are more popular than dead people*.

[TN: *It means that everyone has strengths.
If you always compare your weaknesses with others' strengths, you will only increase your troubles.
It can also mean comparing other things, such as financial resources, power, etc.]

However, Zhang Yue didn't feel unwilling but just sighed casually.
After all, talent was something inherent, no matter how much one complained about it, it wouldn't suddenly appear on you.

If Talent was not enough, then work harder to make up for it.
Zhang Yue said to himself.

Zhang Yue took this reality show as a learning opportunity, so after thinking about it, he still asked his doubts, “Then Teacher Lin, how can you integrate yourself with the characters more closely?”

Lin Qin didn't know how to answer this question, so he was silent for a while before saying, “Wait a moment.” When he finished speaking, he put down the brush and trotted back to his room.

When Lin Qin came down again, he held a thick notebook in his hand and handed it to Zhang Yue, “Look at it, it's all in there.”

Wiping his hands, Zhang Yue took the notebook with great care.
When he saw the contents of the notebook, his eyes suddenly widened, “Teacher Lin, is this a biography of a character?”
