After following them to place where it seemed very far out of the city, their cars screeched to a halt. Anna parked far away from them as she held her gun tightly underneath her shirt. Shouldn she call for backup?. She figured she had to do that later. Besides, what if these guys were up to nothing criminal?. She had to hurry so as she could make time for the autopsy.

At some point, she wanted to walk away , but of course, the devil in her kept pushing her towards the warehouse. She slowly got in from the back and hid behind the crates. She could only see a little from the holes in the crates.

The men got out of the car and Anna bit her tongue to prevent her from gasping. That was the infamous CEO of Swantech!. What the hell was he doing here?!. And why did he look so anxious?. He looked like the world would break down on him any second.

That was very strange because this very man who was trembling was known to be formidable and unforgiving. No one couldn be in his presence without being intimidated and so why the hell did he look as though his head was about to be cut off the very next second?.

Her stream of questions were answered when the sound of shoe clicking against the cold floor was heard. She could feel her heart pounding in her ribcage as her fingers became shaky.She couldn see him from where she sat but the aura that had enveloped the whole place meant he wasn someone to joke with. This was the first time she felt intimidated by a man!. She couldn even see him so why the hell did she have to feel like that?.

” Y-you are late. ” Anna heard the CEO s trembling voice and bit her lips. She couldn judge him any further because she was also feeling the same way. ” You said youd get me out of this. Why haven you done that?. ”

” And why would I help you?. ” The voice that came was dangerous and menacing , causing her hairs to stand on end. He might not think twice before killing her if she was caught. She closed her eyes and listened on. The temperature dropped a few degrees as a spine chilling silence engulfed the place. Why did the CEO need his help when he could get the job done within a few minutes?. And what did he do?. Someone who acted as though he owned the world is now begging for his crime to be hidden?.

” Ian… Aren we brothers?. ” The CEO asked. By the tone with which he spoke, he sounded desperate but did not want to be reduced to begging. What the… the CEO had a brother?!. That was just absurd!. If he had a brother, then how come the media wasn aware of that?. Where had his brother been all this while?. This information deserved to hit the headlines!.

Everything went silent again before a sarcastic , intimidating and unusually mesmerizing laugh echoed in the warehouse.

” That is certainly a lame excuse. I don know what family is. You already know you guys are all dead to me. ” Annas jaw literally fell upon hearing the mans reply. Who on earth would say that?!. His reply made her fear for her own dear life!. She was only twenty five and had a lot to live for!. She wouldn want to die … at least, not at this age.

”But we…. ” The CEOs voice trailed off when someones phone began to ring.

Annas face paled.
