Post-apocalyptic Cannon Fodder Pampered Everyday

“Young lady, why are you buying so many things by yourself? Will you be able to carry them?”

The mini mart is almost empty at this time so the lady boss started chatting when she saw such a young pretty lady shopping.

There wasn’t much time left so Ruan Ning was quite anxious.
She wanted to just give all the money she had on her to the lady boss and leave with her basket of goods.
Ruan Ning smiled bashfully and said “ Aunty, can you hasten the payment? I have urgent matters.”

The lady boss stop trying to make idle talk and sped up the packing saying: “Total Is five hundred and 2 dollars.”

After the apocalypse, cash won’t worth anything so Ruan Ning wasn’t stingy with these few hundred dollars.

When Ruan Ning was almost at the door of the mini mart, she hesitated then increased her pace and left.
She did not warn the lady boss about the apocalypse that was about to happen.

Leaving aside the part where the lady boss would actually believe a stranger like her, this is something incomprehensible to someone who has been living in the modern peaceful age.

At the very least, the lady boss could stay in this mini mart where there is food and water and won’t be attacked by the infected who roam the streets.

Besides, she couldn’t even guarantee her own safety let alone worrying for others.

Ruan Ning was panting by the time she reached home with all the shopping bags.

Thankfully there were lifts at the apartment building or she would probably be too tired to make it back on time. 

Ruan Ning subconsciously looked at her watch while laying mindlessly on the soft sofa.

3:29pm

She made it…

After making the first trip, she almost didn’t control herself and wanted to lay directly on the sofa.

However, she was desperate to survive and the fear of having to go on an empty stomach drove her to give up on the sofa.
She didn’t even have the chance to drink a sip of water before hurrying out to buy supplies again.

Even though she returned home from school 3 minutes before her estimation, she was too nervous on her second trip.
She was afraid that the situation might change halfway through and she would be stuck on her way home. 

To guard against the unexpected, she bought a random kitchen knife from the supermarket without caring about its price or brand.

This is so that even if she met a zombie, she had something to defend herself with. 

Though the variety of goods in this mini mart is lesser, its location was much nearer compared to the previous supermarket.
Also, there were fewer people around this mini mart so if the apocalypse happened, the chances of her encountering a zombie were lowered. 

Ruan Ning was pondering that if she wanted to continue staying in this neighbourhood after the apocalypse, she would have to consider this aspect as she needs to gather supplies. 

Also, she noticed that there was a pharmacy near the minimart.
But she only had time to take a glimpse before speeding back home.

3:30pm

The apocalypse had started.

Being indoors alone, Ruan Ning did not know what was going on outside but through the few phrases in the novel, she could already imagined the chaos and it would be something that she didn’t want to witness.

Ruan Ning was glad that she transmigrated before the apocalypse started even though it was only one hour, she was able to accomplish quite a bit of tasks.

She was also pleased with the fact that she did not mull over the plot or why she transmigrated but took appropriate actions immediately. 

She did not know if she could survive the apocalypse or for how long, but at least these supplies would pull her through for now.

After all, the apocalypse had just started so the movement of the zombies was still slow.
Their abilities to attack were not high so if she stayed indoors, the zombies cannot do anything to her.

Ruan Ning was sure that compared to the school, her area would be much safer.

In the novel, the original owner of the body noticed that there was a classmate who suddenly became crazy and started biting people.
Some students called the police while some went to call the teachers, no one could have thought that it was the start of an apocalypse.

The student whom they thought was ill was actually infected and became a zombie.

By the time they realised, it was already too late and the school had turned into a purgatory.
There were man-eating monsters and screams everywhere.

Though the original owner survived, she was trapped in the school alongside other survivors.

The place of learning became their cage and even if the zombies were not strong, most of them did not escape due to fear.
They stayed hidden in one spot waiting in the hopes that a rescue team would come for them.

There weren’t many places in the school with food storage and there were many students.
The original owner was starving in the school for half a month before a rescue team showed up.

However, as she was following the group of rescuers, a small wave of infected appeared and someone from behind pushed her out to be a meat shield and that was where her life ended.
