 After defeating the Gashadokuro, wondering if there wasn’t anything, I looked around and found a splendid magic stone.
This is an even better quality than the Lime Ammonite’s.
 Since it’s best to keep the magic stone, I’ll make sure to collect it.

 Uni and Kani seemed happy, and the moles expressed their happiness by dancing in joy.
After my fluffy friends had their fill, we decided to continue our work.
 After all, at this point, we want Slime.
And Slimes like damp places.
SO we continued along the mountain path and suddenly found a gaping cave.
 We might be able to find Slimes in this cave.
 But inside, the cave is narrow.
It’d be difficult for the excavator as it was till now.
That’s why we decided to proceed in mini-excavator mode.
 It is literally smaller than a normal magic excavator, and is an open type without screening on the driver’s side.
 That’s why you need to be careful in terms of defence.
Well, because of that, it has the advantage of being nimble and able to turn tight corners.

 Everyone was also in high spirits.
The mini-excavator is only able to be used as a one-man vehicle, so everyone except Kani, who was on my shoulder, had to walk.
 I felt a bit sorry for them, but everyone showed that they understood.

 Well then, we decided to immediately enter the cave and start exploring.
The cave was strangely well-lit.
If it were dark, we could have turned on the lights, but this brightness seemed fine.

 Then Kani poked me on my shoulder and cutely pointed with her paw to the back of the cave.
 She seemed very frantic.
Maybe she sensed something dangerous?

Apparently, it seems that she’s not saying that there’s danger.
 
 ”In other words, there’s something up ahead?”

 Everyone also looks exited.
Their steps were light too.
Maybe they simply like exploring places like this.
 Well, we proceeded in a straight line without any particular branching.
Then, after that, I felt a breeze blowing from overhead.
 There was a large space.
The ceiling had a hole, and the blue sky could be seen through the hole.
Then our attention drew to the center of the space.

 We found a Slime there.
And it was also a Blue Slime, which is said to have more plentiful magic power.

 That one might be a bit bigger than the Slime I know.
Although I say that, it’s still only to the point that it’s slightly bigger than Uni.
 And then the Blue Slime was surrounded by floating armour for some reason.
Maybe that’s Living Armour?
 Mana builds up in tools if left unattended for a long time, and then move around as though they have a will.
This is often treated as a monster too.
 ”Perhaps, there’s a mana pool at the back here?”, is what I thought.
If there’s a mana pool, then the surroundings will be thick with mana.
And also, a mana pool emits bluish-white light.
Maybe that light’s remainder reached till all the way inside the cave…
 If so, could it be that Kani sensed the mana pool and tried telling us about it?
 It’s still not clear, but for now we first need to deal with this Living Armour and Slime.
 In general, the strength of this sort of Living Armour is based on the performance of the original armour.
 This living armour — from the looks of it, it was made from equipment of reasonable performance.
Even intermediate-level adventurers might have a hard time dealing with it.
 But this, is the Slime actually being targeted? The Slime is important to me too.
I can’t afford to overlook this.
 
 ”Ok, let’s first take down that armour.”
 ”Unii!”
 ”Mogu~!”
 Mogyu!”
 Mogu-!”

 Then the stone on Kani’s forehead glowed, and I thought I saw everyone’s body glow red for a moment.

 Hmm, somehow it seems Kani’s power worked.
Then the moles dug holes and began to burrow into the ground.
Very mole-like.
 Ok, anyway, I moved the excavator, and cut into the armour surrounding the Slime.
 Then I swung the bucket and knocked the armour flying.
 Some of the armour fell to the ground and, at the same time, holes in the ground opened up and swallowed them up.
 This must’ve been done by the moles.
As expected, the moles are good at digging holes.

 Uni also, hammer in hand, resolutely took on the Living Armour.
Uni may seem small and cute, but when it comes to fights, he’s power is not to be underestimated.
 Uni increased the weight of that large hammer at the moment of impact.
By doing so, it exhibits a greater effect than just wielding a heavy weapon.
 Uni’s attack knocked down the armour—
 I thought there wasn’t any problem, so I started to smash them down with the excavator, but then, the armour that hadn’t been knocked down surfaced and charged at me.
 
 ”Oh no!”
 ”Unii~!”

 However, just before the armour’s charge hit, it was blocked by some invisible wall and stopped moving.

 Aiming for that opening, I counter-attacked.
With this, all the armour was defeated.
 But, what was that — ah!
 
 ”Was that maybe Kani’s power?”
 ”Koo~♪”
 
 Kani replied while shaking her fluffy tail.
I see, that light gave everyone some kind of barrier.
 It seems Kani apparently possessed a rather useful power.
 However, although there was a close-call, it was over in an overwhelming victory.
Now the armour won’t move, so I’ll just collect it for now.
 This is also made of iron, so maybe it could be used for something.
 Then, next is obviously the important Slime.

 Then, the Slime raised a cry as it came up to my legs.

 It nuzzled itself against my leg continuously.
It cried in a spoiled voice.

 Hmm, come to think of it, I remember getting a similar reaction when I rescued Uni from the magic beasts before.
I can’t even say “Urgh, I was obviously aiming for your body!” with this atmosphere now…
