The Mate of the Demon King

Ayra sighed after hearing another crash at the other end. But the voice she heard next was what made her shocked. ”Ayra, don go anywhere and stay in your car. Im coming to get you. ” He said.

”K–Kelvin!? ” She called out, stunned. Who would have thought that her one time crush would come to her apartment to look for her when she was practically here, going on a night adventure in the forest of the bones?

Wait… what was he doing in their mansion by the way? He already made it clear that he didn share the same feelings for her so why was he there and why did he act startled?

”Ayra, listen to me. Don do anything crazy! ” He yelled over the phone. Ayra only snickered and looked at the trees that looked like it was designed to be part of the gothic setting of that place.

”Then say those three words, ” she stated. The guy at the other end was suddenly quiet as if he was asked to do the impossible. ”Won say it? Oh well… no one knows whats in this forest by the way. So, Ill continue the remaining journey on foot. ” She said nonchalantly.

The man at the other end was suddenly lost for words. T-this girl was talking like the Forest of Bones was actually a small park in City O.

”Ayra, like I said don do anything stupid! ” He yelled at the other end. Ayra scoffed at his statement while she leaned on her red sports car.

”Why? Do you love me? ” She asked shamelessly. Ayra smiled as if she could imagine the look on his face. Veins might certainly be popping out of his forehead.

”Ayra… ”

”Clam up! Then why did you react after hearing about the fact that Im in he bones? ” She stated. Ayra was sure that the people who were listening at the background might think she was drunk. With the way she was asking him honestly about his feelings while stuck in a forest alone would make them question her sanity.

”Okay, okay. Ill admit. Im in love with you, will you wait there in the car now? ” Kelvin said after sighing. There was a sign of tiredness in his voice. This girl was really troublesome!

Ayra who held the phone close to her ear suddenly turned red. W-what? He just admitted to having those same feelings for her? Those words kept echoing in her head as she stared ahead at the dark forest. Whoa… okay, she was going to be honest, she thought that this night was literally the best night ever… for her.

Making a crazy decision to drive into the most dangerous forest in City O was the best choice she had ever made. She thanked the people that dared her to do this. With this Ayra smiled and answered the man at the other end:

”Okay… Ill wait. ”

A grunt was heard and then there was a click. Ayra took the phone away from her ear and then she squealed happily. The headlights of the car was still shining ever brightly as her lithe figure was seen jubilating over what she heard.

”I have to share this news with Lena! ” She said excitedly and stared at her phone. She was about to dial her friends number when the air around her suddenly turned icy.

Ayra felt her hair stand as she felt someone behind her. Slowly, she turned her head towards the direction and froze. There was nothing, only a thick fog that was seeming to gather around her. That only added to her sudden fright.

Whenever fog gathered at a spot, she believed that a vampire was nearby. Well, that was what the movies told her. Without waiting another second, the phone fell off her hand and she ran, leaving the car there.

Her cellphone started vibrating on the floor after she dashed away. It was Kelvin!

A dark figure was seen dashing through the woods while she panted. It was getting more darker as she was far from the light that her car was giving. Ayra found herself in the deepest darkest part of the forest and she froze.

She looked behind her, and it looked like the fog had already concealed every part. How was she going to return back there. Whats more worse was that her phone fell off her hand. Okay, she took back her word about this night being the best night ever. It was the worst!

Well, who knows, anyone could see the car and trace her whereabouts to this place. She would just hang around anywhere in the forest till it was daylight, she thought.

Her stomach started grumbling and she bit her lips. Damn it! She had totally forgotten to have taken some snacks along with her. It was all in her car. This night was turning into a nightmare.

Just when she thought there was finally peace in that place, a strong gush of wind blew past her and she suddenly became alert. She stood still, while her ears were trying to pick the movement of the creature.

This left her confused. What the hell was going on? Why doesn she hear… footsteps? No matter how fast the vampire was, she was surely going to hear his footsteps… but not his heartbeat.

Ayra squatted immediately and closed her eyes as if she was trying to feel the vibration of the creature that was coming at her. Her eyes flashed open when she felt it in front of her. Then her face paled as she noticed those amber eyes.

A loud scream was heard before she changed direction and started running off. The creature growled in anger and chased after its prey. It had thought that its prey was one that would remain still on the spot like other humans that visited this place after staring at its eyes, but this person was different.

And the scent that was on him… he smelled like a female!

What the creature did was to chase after its prey because it was a normal trait in the genes of predators like it.

Just when it thought it was about to catch up with her, the girl suddenly found herself walking on air, and then suddenly sinking down. The creature slid to a stop as its eyes landed on the edge of the cliff.

What the hell, she ran off the cliff… too bad its dinner was gone.

Just when it thought that it was losing its dinner, her scent wafted into his nostrils and he followed it. The young human male had grabbed onto a small part of the cliff and was holding it for dear life.

Ayra thought she was going to die just from the height she was hanging from. The only thing she could do was to pray for help to get there immediately. If not, shed probably crash to her death.
