It was already late in the day when the relief food was distributed; the entire sky was dyed red.
It was chaotic in the square.
Everyone had received the same amount of food: half a corn and a steamed bun the size of a fist.
That was the food for a person for the entire day.

Not enough to feel full, but enough so they would not starve to death.

Some families had previously looted food supplies from roadside shops, so their situation was slightly better, but most of the people complained about the size of the steamed buns getting smaller and smaller.

As such complaints grew louder, and there were signs of unrest in the crowd, a few evolved people went to the front and showed off their abilities.
Then stared coldly at the crowd, as if they were threatening to crush the skulls of anyone who dared to take a step forward.
The people who had wanted to cause trouble because they were hungry were intimidated and thus quieted down.

Even then, there were still complaints from the crowd that the military were not taking good care of them and providing them with enough food.

The military were also helpless in such a situation.
Now that the network was down across the entire country, they could not contact the central government nor other cities.
Although there was quite a large amount of food in the city, they needed to reserve most of it for the construction of the city’s survivor base, while also ensuring that there was enough to eat on the road for those who would be travelling north.

They had caught two mutated dogs so everyone received an additional bowl of broth.
Those who were lucky enough could even find some broken bones in their broth.
The meat, on the other hand, was naturally given to the evolved people and the soldiers first, because they were the main combat force.
They were largely responsible for safety and food hunting.

Jin Yang did not go get the relief food.
His little rabbit’s space was packed with food, enough for them to eat for the whole duration of their journey.

They could have departed first on their own, but the square was crowded at the time.
They did not want to draw attention to themselves.

Jin Yang was not afraid of trouble, but he preferred to avoid it if possible.
In the end he decided to leave with everyone and go his own way later, so it would be less noticeable.

In the car, Yin Yiliu stepped on the backpack on the front passenger’s seat.
Her tiny paw pulled at the zipper, revealing the food inside.
These were all the food Jin Yang carried outside as a front.
It would be too suspicious if there were no food supplies in his car.

Seeing the little rabbit staring at him with its pea-shaped eyes while patting the backpack anxiously, Jin Yang knew that it was hungry.
So he opened the bag and took out two slices of bread and a canned minced meat.

As soon as the can was opened, Yin Yiliu smelled the aroma, and she bounced in front of Jin Yang, twitching her pink nose.
Her eyes followed Jin Yang closely as he slowly tore open the packaging and smeared the meat onto the bread.
She drooled at the sight.

“Can you eat human food?”

“Chi!” I can, I can!

Seeing the bread brought to her mouth was taken away once again, she smacked the man’s hand ‘hard’ with her little paw, before grabbing his hand and nibbling on the bread.
The rabbit’s tiny white mouth was immediately stained by the meat sauce.

When the rabbit ate, the chewing movement of its mouth was really cute, which made Jin Yang hungry as well.
He smiled and carefully wiped the rabbit’s mouth with a piece of tissue.
Yin Yiliu’s face felt itchy, and she couldn’t help but sigh at his gentleness.

Why did someone like him end up being the villain?

After feeding his little rabbit, Jin Yang ate his own dinner with the remaining minced meat.

He would never look at this type of food before, but after the apocalypse it was a delicacy most people could only dream of enjoying.

Yin Yiliu sat on Jin Yang’s lap and watched him eat.
She wasn’t sure if it was because his body had become stronger these days, but his face became less pale.
He still looked exceptionally good-looking even while gobbling up food.

Just as Yin Yiliu was wondering if she could play slide on Jin Yang’s nose, Jin Yang abruptly stopped eating, glanced outside the car, and rolled down the window.

” ”

Yin Yiliu wanted to see who was there, but her legs were too short, so she tried to hop.
Jin Yang rubbed her head and said, “Stay still.”

A man in military uniform appeared at the window, it was Wang Zhengjie.

He handed a bowl of broth to Jin Yang.
Then he noticed the little rabbit on the front passenger seat, surrounded by leftover food packaging.
Many thoughts flashed through his mind.

Jin Yang didn’t reject, he simply accepted the bowl and said thank you.

The dog broth was still steaming hot.
There was a large meaty bone in the bowl.
Yin Yiliu was already full, but she still craved for the broth.
She touched her slightly bulging belly with her little paw, and sighed at the inconvenience of having a small appetite.

Noticing her eager little stare, Jin Yang leaned towards the bowl and blew on the top layer of the broth to cool it before feeding it to his little rabbit.

The little rabbit sipped the broth while clutching the hand of the handsome man.
The fur on the sides of its mouth had gotten wet.
It let out a small little burp, “Chirp!” and slowly let go of its little paws.

Yin Yiliu really couldn’t drink anymore; her bulging belly grew even larger.
She sat down beside Jin Yang and comforted herself.

It’s okay, I’m just a rabbit, I don’t need to watch my weight or my image.

Wang Zhengjie looked at the faint smile on Jin Yang’s face.
He didn’t understand why Jin Yang would treat a rabbit so well during the apocalypse.
Was this rabbit actually a mutated animal?

There was also a family in the square who had a mutated dog that could assist its owner in hunting small animals.
Unfortunately, the newly arrived evolved people mistook it for a wild animal and killed it, causing a lot of trouble.

The thought of the trouble-making evolved people gave him a headache.
He thought about what his comrades had said to him, and after some consideration, he decided to warn Jin Yang.

“You better be careful of the evolved people.”

Jin Yang knew what Wang Zhengjie meant.
His car was really too eye-catching.
He wasn’t surprised that people targeted him.
He teased the sleepy little rabbit by rubbing its soft little belly when he heard Wang Zhengjie speak,

“Not sure if you know Xiang Yingzhuo, the guy from the Xiang family…”

As Wang Zhengjie was speaking, he felt a sharp gaze fixed on him.
When he looked up, he noticed Jin Yang’s face had turned cold.
He suddenly felt like a targeted prey and chills ran down his spine.

“You said his name is Xiang Yingzhuo?”

Yin Yiliu, who was waving her little paws in the air to aid digestion, stumbled when she heard the name, her fat little body struggling to sit upright.

Jin Yang would meet the male lead so soon?

Could it be that her existence had changed the storyline?!

, pretty please?
