”We have to report it to the police, ” Diana said angrily. She was staying the night once Ella spilled her problem to her.

”I didn even know his face. I didn even remember the room number I was in. And … I did want him. It was not a ****. ” Ella said, sternly.

”Oh, bad. Why didn you kick his ball and run away? ”

”Impossible! My body was strange. I didn drink … even a drop, but I think … I was drugged, ” Ella insisted that something went wrong with her body that night. ”Oh, Diana … My mom will kill me if she finds out about my pregnancy, ” Ella murmured hopelessly. ”Out of wedlock, on top of that. ”

”I know … she will disown you and kick you out of home once she learns the truth, ” Diana said flatly, throwing a pitiful gaze at her friend.

”Diana! ”

”What? ”

”I called you to help me out. Not otherwise! ” Ella shouted out, feeling annoyed.

Diana smiled vaguely. She wanted to help her friend, but she was sure that she couldn do anything.

Silence filled up the room until Diana finally came up with an idea, ”How about abortion, Ella? Is it okay for you? ”

”What did you say? Abortion? ” Ella gulped, hesitantly trying to deal with such an idea.

Ella realized that she could not stay desperate forever. Her current life was already far worse than hell. Therefore, she had to find a way out as soon as possible. Otherwise, her future would be ruined entirely.

Aborting the baby was one option. This was a pure accident. Ella was innocent. However, her humanity side said otherwise. She was unable to eliminate another living thing in return for her happiness. The baby that was growing inside her womb was innocent as well.

Moreover, the unborn baby was her flesh and blood. She didn want to do that. For her, at least, it didn feel right.

Finally, she said firmly, ”No! I will never do that. The baby is innocent. Its … how to say … cruel? Its a big no! ” Ella couldn help opposing the idea.

Because of that reason, Ella tried to think of something else, other than abortion. It would be better for people to say bad things about her because of her out-of-wedlock pregnancy. She could bear with that. Its better being said like that than for her to be a woman who had no affection for her own flesh and blood.

Ella crumpled up the paper with plans she didn carry out. Her elbows rested on the study table, and her palms seemed to be squeezing her aching head.

”Oh, what should I do? ” she mumbled in a low voice.

Diana shook her head. She could only stroke Ellas head to soothe her up.

A week later, Ella was settled with a solid decision. She didn want anyone to know about the plight she was in right now.

Ella then came to her mother and shoved a pile of files in front of that beautiful middle-aged woman, her mom.

”Please sign all of this! I have to get a student visa to go to Japan soon, ” she asked in confidence as if nothing bad happened to her.

Her mother stared in disbelief at what Ella said. Tuition fees in Japan would cost fortunes. Her mom didn want to spend that much money. ”Do you think Ill pay the tuition for you? ”

”You will pay for me because, in my fathers will, its clearly stated that I have the right to receive limitless tuition fees. So, I can choose any college I want! Anywhere! ” Ella said firmly. She showed a copy of her fathers will which she had prepared ahead. That magic sheet of course did her a miracle. Her mom almost couldn say a thing to oppose what she wanted.

Almost.

”You won be able to do anything if I don sign this document, ” Mrs. Roberts said sarcastically and smiled triumphantly. Raising an eyebrow, she was sure her pretentious daughter would not be able to do anything to disobey her.

”Okay. If you insist, I have to ask Adam for help, ” Ella concluded coldly, threatening her mother to discuss this matter with her fathers lawyer. She picked up the pile of papers from her moms hands. At that moment, the victory was on Ellas side. Her mother gave up obediently.

The day later, Ella was preparing for her trip to Japan. It would be a long stay, of course.

”Be careful, Elle! Make sure you take care of the baby well. ” Diana gave Ella a warm hug when she sent her best friend off at the airport.

”You too! Never make stupid stuff when Im not around. ” Ellas tears welled up. She bit her lips to make sure she wouldn make a scene.

Ella took a Japanese language course for one year. The primary purpose of it was, of course, to give her time to give birth. After her son, Reginald, was born, Ella continued her education at the Faculty of Economics. Every day, she brought Reginald to the nursery thats close to her college.

Everything Ella went through was hard. Fortunately, the five hundred thousand Yen allowance that Adam sent to her each month was more than enough to cover her and Reginalds daily needs, so she didn have to work part-time to earn extra money.

In a way, Ella has lived a good life compared to other international students who lived on scholarships of between one hundred to two hundred thousand yen. With that money, she also managed to pay a poor international student who was willing to sign a marriage document for her. Of course, it was a fake marriage.

They just submitted the marriage form to the ward office and got a divorce three months later so that the child she gave birth to seemed to have a legitimate father.

With her condition as a single mother, Ella chose to stay away from the student community activities. She didn want to cause trouble for herself or anyone else. She only had a few friends because they happened to be in the same class.

Reginald was the unwanted child who unexpectedly completed Ellas life. A child who grew up without a father figure but felt very happy because his mother loved him very much. Fortunately, he took after Ellas physical appearance, just like Ellas clone in a boy version.

Six years later, Adam called Ella, who had never returned home since she had left. ”Go home; you have to sign the new inheritance documents on your twenty-fourth birthday. ”

”But Im already settled down here. Ive got a good job too, ” Ella objected hesitantly. She loved her current life already.

”Go home because the conditions have changed. So I need your presence to read out your fathers second will, ” Adam insisted firmly. ”Its your turn to manage your family business, El. Or, your step-dad will do it for you because your mother has already remarried. ”

”Remarried? Huh, I thought that mom loved my dad because she didn remarry for some years. Hmm, it looks like I was wrong, ” Ella commented coldly. ”All right. Im going home with Reginald. Ill make sure with my own eyes that she will never touch my dads possessions ever again. ”
